I've replied to Kate's question on Kechari Mudra* over at Wax, Boogers, and Phlegm. Any other strange queries?

*The yogic practice of sticking one's tongue -- oh, just go read the thing, okay?

I have learned some of the most interesting things by reading your blog. I don't think I would have believed this was even possible without your post. My thoughts on this process are Ewwwww!!!
I don't care who ya are, that there's nasty!
I have a cold right now and, well, I won't be trying that particular branch of yogic practice any time soon [okay, never].
I agree, that's downright nasty... But since we're talking about yoga, I do have a question: my sister takes yoga and her instructor has convinced her that by scraping your tongue your allergies will be reduced. Is there any truth in this?
Anduin, Shelbi, I have to admit I tried to do this in the privacy of my bed last night. I don't know how they manage it.
Sapph, I can't see how scraping the tongue can do anything whatsoever to help with allergies. It is a common hygiene practice in some cultures (Hispanic cultures in particular; in some of the Los Angeles botanicas -- hope I'm remembering the right word -- you could buy tongue scrapers). Does it do any good? Not that I'm aware of.
