My parents' reaction to Brokeback Mountain was disappointingly tame. "It was too long," my dad said. "So these two cowboys love each other. They needed over two hours to show me two cowboys in love with each other?"
My mom said, "Feh," or words to that effect.

Thanks, Michelle. I tried to spread the lovin' around in my votes ;o) so I'm not a selfish ho.
We're going to see Brokeback this weekend, so I'll let you know how a slightly younger audience feels about it.
By the way, meant to tell you... we saw 40 Year Old Virgin on your recommendation and loved it! Great movie, but I completely agree with what you said about the forced conflict there at the end.
Glad you liked 40-year-old Virgin. I hope you watched the cut scenes -- I really loved the longer version of the "you know how I know you're gay?" scene.
