Um... Pulp Fiction? I'm distracted by the fact that my parents have a trunk just like that one at home. (Though I'm sure a lot of people do; it seems to be a common design and colour.)
Yes, and also Repo Man. There was at least one other -- a 40s noir. I'll have to look for the email from Kenney where he ran down the history for me. (Kenney, if you're out there, here's your cue.)
It's got a bunch. The concept is really originally the myth of "Pandora's Box," sort of filtered through "Pulp Fiction," "Kiss me Deadly," and the figures in the background were stolen directly from the film "A Touch of Evil."
Pat is right but remember how creepy sleep away camp was with those trunks we had in the moldy cabins? That's another source.
